Jazztrix tonight at The Ellington Jazz Club 6.00pm


South-west jazz ensemble Jazztrix is set to swing the city with their mix of classic jazz styles and original compositions.  The group will be performing be at Ellington Jazz Club on Sunday 27rd of November.
Jazztrix is a jazz ensemble from south-west Western Australia and was founded by trumpeter/vocalist David Rastrick in 2007 in Margaret River. The group – which includes some of the south-west's leading jazz musicians - plays jazz classics and original compositions for festivals, weddings, and private functions with a repertoire that includes swing, blues, ballads, latin, soul and contemporary styles.
Jazztrix have played at the Leeuwin Concert 2010 and 2011 (supporting Boz Scaggs, Michael MacDonald and Roxy Music), weddings at Leeuwin Estate, Settlers Tavern, Bunker Bay Resort, Dunsborough Lakes, Karriview Lodge, Donnybrook Apple Festival, Augusta River Festival, Margaret River Wine Festival, and many private events.

Jazztrix recently recorded their debut EP featuring six (6) original tracks live at Yallingup's Fur Real studio.  The album is available for internet download via CD Baby, iTunes etc. and on CD at the band's gigs.

Jazztrix' core line-up of trumpeter/vocalist David Rastrick, guitarist Steve Ellis, bassist Todd Brittain and drummer Gary Larkin will be joined by special guests: saxophonist Andrew “Spock” Mackay-Sim and vocalist Katie J White for the performance at Ellington Jazz Club - WA's premiere Jazz venue.
