Swing to Samba - Trent White Farewell Show 8.00pm tonight at The Ellington Jazz Club

Trent White is now one of Australia’s leading young jazz singers. Having performed regularly at the Ellington in the past, you may remember his performance credits; a Tribute to the Gershwins, Las Vegas Jazz Stories, and Sinatra’s Songbook.  Tonight is a very special concert; ‘Swing to Samba’ marks his last public performance in Perth as we wave him goodbye to continue his career in Melbourne.

Tonight, Trent proudly presents a groovy selection of quirky takes and crafty interpretations of jazz songbook treasures. From snappy swing standards reminiscent of Sinatra to the infectious grooves of Jobim’s bossa-nova and Latin jazz repertoire, to stunning ballads by Charlie Chaplin, and everything in between.

With a top-notch lineup of Perth’s best jazz musicians in the engine room (rhythm section) tonight, don’t miss out on a very special show of glowing jazz gems from a fresh voice to the Australian jazz scene.

Graham Wood (piano)
Ray Walker (guitar)
