Singer songwriter Sarah McLeod leads one of Australia's most iconic rock bands –The Superjesus - and will be joining us for two special acoustic shows this Saturday. We also welcome back Prita Grealy from Berlin and debut new shows from Joe McKee, Morgan Bain, Cheryl Durong and Nick Di Gregorio. Another show worth catching is the father of indo-jazz Arthur Gracias on Sunday.
MONDAY September 10, 7.00pm Joe McKee
Before he heads back to Europe for more touring and recording, Joe McKee is playing one last fare-thee-well show. His debut solo album, Burning Boy, has garnered some tasty critical acclaim over the past few months. It's a bold shift for McKee. Gone is the pulsing rhythm section so often omnipresent in his previous work with SNOWMAN, replaced by a breathy and somewhat unexpected baritone. Cuts like Open Mine, a loose mediation on Western Australia’s recent mining boom, and the brooding title track show a vulnerability and lyrical dexterity seen for the first time here. TUESDAY 8.00pm Morgan Bain
A unique and gifted singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist based in Perth, BAIN has known all his life that music was his calling. His song writing is insightful, powerful and emotive, matched with a voice beyond his years that has resulted in a Category Win in the 2011 WAM Song of the Year along with Semi Final status in the International Songwriting Competition for his track "Unkind". With his high energy guitar playing, captivating raw performances and a sensibility that showcases his skills in the roots/blues genre, his talent is unmistakable. After a sell out launch of his much acclaimed debut EP 'Another Day' and recent support for COLD CHISEL at their only WA show, BAIN is definitely one to watch! Click here for tickets
