Guitarist John Abercrombie has been a mainstay of the contemporary jazz scene for over 40 years, including countless albums as a leader or sideman on the esteemed ECM label. His collaborations with the music world's elite in multiple genres have included artists such as Jack DeJohnette, Michael Brecker, Jan Garbarek and John Scofield to name but a few, all the while developing a personal, distinctive and recognisable style on the electric and acoustic guitar.
John Abercrombie's influence may be discerned in many of today's acclaimed jazz guitar players, and his music will be celebrated tonight in a performance by guitarist Simon Jeans with Carl Mackey (saxophones), Graham Wood (keys) and Andy Fisenden (drums).
