Natasha Mousuff EP launch headlines this week at The Ellington


Hailing from Perth and now based in Melbourne, Natasha has been making waves in the Neo-Soul movement in Australia. Don't miss two late shows also featuring the amazing vocal talents of Gary Pinto. MONDAY 6.30pm Corpus Grooves at The Ellington
From a College with a strong tradition in music, Corpus Christi College presents vibrant young men and women who truly embody a genuine love of music. This evening will feature musical performances from Soul Band, Swing Band and featured vocal students presenting a range of jazz, swing, soul and funk music as well as a Girls’ Barbershop group. All musical performances are presented by student musicians of Corpus Christi College. Musical direction by Penelope Kimble (Director of Music), Stephen Kingwell and Daniel Connor. TUESDAY 8.00pm Tal Cohen Quartet
Regarded as one of the most exciting young jazz pianists around, Tal Cohen is a fine talent who brings to the stage a refreshing approach to jazz piano, not just as a pianist but also as a refined composer. Having recently released his long anticipated album “Yellow Sticker”, Tal is ready to amaze you again with his wonderful music. The album is comprised of a selection of jazz standards arrangements along with Tal’s quintessential compositions. the record also features acclaimed perth musicians Jamie Oehlers on tenor saxophone, Chris Tarr on drums and Pete Jeavons on bass. Tonight at The Ellington Jazz Club, the Tal Cohen quartet will perform for you a selection of tracks from the album.  This promises to be a unique night of music highly anticipated by all members of the quartet. Click here for tickets

WEDNESDAY 8.00pm Jangoo Chapkana Trio
The Jangoo Chapkhana Trio swings into action at The Ellington in 2012. Joined by long-time musical collaborators Murray Wilkins (bass) and Dennis Vrcic (drums), this is one night of jazz that simply cannot be missed. The programme goes all the way from the great jazz standards to fantastically fresh arrangements of more contemporary material - all laced with that crisp precision and harmonic magic that is the defining sound of the Jangoo Chapkhana Trio. Click here for tickets

THURSDAY 8.00pm Ezereve
Ezereve is changing the world for those less fortunate one song at a time. Following four sell out nights at the Ellington Jazz Club, Ezereve is a singer with a story to tell. Blessed with angelic looks, a beautiful voice, and poignant songs full of emotion and messages she has set her heart on using her talent to raise money to support the causes she is passionate about. Ezereve is a World Vision Artist and will contribute every dollar from her CD sales towards World Vision. By attending, not only will you be blessed by an evening of wonderful talent in the company of inspirational musicians, but you too will walk away knowing that you made a difference to someone’s life simply by being there. FRIDAY 6.00pm The Glyn McDonald Trio
The group draws influence from diverse ends of the musical spectrum. From classical through to Latin, and coupled with a knack for infectious toe-tappin’ swing, their collective works rest comfortably on a bed of groove-oriented originality. "Glyn serves it up. He isn’t into just playing chords and devices but rather describing things with music, describing specific feelings or abstract concepts. FRIDAY 8.00pm A celebration of the music of Whitney Houston with Amanda Dee - encore performances
Following on from the success of the March shows and the killer vocal performance by Amanda, we have decided to do it again. Come and celebrate the music of one of the most iconic and celebrated singers of the last 30 years who sadly passed before at the age of 48. Guinness World Records cited her as the most-awarded female act of all time. Her awards include two Emmy Awards, six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, and 22 American Music Awards, among a total of 415 career awards in her lifetime. FRIDAY 11.30pm Natasha Mousuff EP launch
Natasha is a talented soul R&B songbird hailing from Perth, and based in Melbourne. She has toured with the likes of BoyzIIMen, Kci and JoJo, Montell Jordan, Joe, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna and Chris Brown. Natasha is at the forefront of the Neo-Soul movement in Australia, blending sounds from the Soul Movement of the 60's through to the R&B stylings of today. To see Natasha sing is to witness something very special. As Shawn Stockman from BoyzIIMen stated on his last Australian tour,  "I have only done two duets in my life - one with Mariah Carey, and now with you, Natasha". Natasha stands as royalty in the Australian R&B scene and is truly an artist to look out for in the coming years. SUNDAY 3.00pm Mental Health Reform Now - A Tribute to Elliot Pace
A poignant and emotional Tribute to Elliot Pace is a call to action. Elliot is a much loved son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend. He was a talented musician who died on the 17th of January this year whilst in the care of the Queensland mental Health System. Elliot was only 23yrs old. ‘A tribute to Elliot Pace’ will begin the call for ‘Mental Health Reform’ by Elliot’s family and invite the Australian public to add their voice. We will call on the Federal Government to review the legal rights of mental health sufferers who act alone in signing their own care releases. Music Rocks Australia supported by musical performances by friends and family offer a compelling concert, a media presentation launching ‘Elliot Pace Foundation’ on Facebook along with stories from those close to Elliot, as well as those in our local community with amazingly similar narratives of heartbreak will complete the schedule. Click here for tickets

Hannibal is offering Perth a performance that they will always remember! Hannibal Means, the protége and personal friend of Nina Simone, is honoured to present this one-off tribute to Nina Simone. Hannibal is an internationally renown musician, vocalist and teacher currently living in Vienna, Austria.
