2012 is full steam ahead for international trumpeter and vocalist Adam Hall.
In 2011 Hall toured with the Richard Jackson Trio (Singapore) and nationally with Big Jay McNeely (USA). He also found time to record two new CDs at the internationally famous Lion Studios in Singapore.
In January Hall played on Australia Day with a gig at Old Broadwater Farm for south-west WA fans and a series of gigs at The Mustang Bar in Northbridge are currently underway. Other local gigs planned for the year include The Ellington, Perth, Fairbridge Festival and other venues listed on the web site.
In February Hall travelled solo to Europe to tour with Big Jay McNeely (USA) playing to full houses in Spain, Germany and Vienna as part of the Winter Festival series.
In March Hall officially released his two latest CDs When It’s Party Time Down South and It’s You It’s Me at the Fremantle Arts Centre.
The two new CDs feature title tracks written by Hall - When It’s Party Time Down South; a CD for people who just love to dance and It’s You It’s Me; a CD for people who love to swing and complement Hall’s first CD I’ve Got News For You. (2008)Audiences at live gigs will also see a new regular line up with Hall’s band, The Velvet Playboys.
The line up is Hall (lead vocals and trumpet), Tim Forster (original band member; tenor sax, flute and vocals), Mark Turner (Guitar and Vocals), Adam Springhetti (Double Bass), Matt Hanson (Drums) and special guest appearances by Jessie Gordon (Vocals) and original VP member Len Whittle (keyboard).
The Playboys play music for people who love to Swing! featuring music reminiscent of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Dean Martin, Harry Connick Junior and Louis Prima. The Playboys also play music for people who love to dance and have a good time with artists such as Ray Charles, Little Richard, Jackie Wilson and the Blues Brothers part of the listening experience. Their collection of songs is aimed towards the people who love to have a good time.... As Louis Prima said: " We just want to play pretty music for the people."
